Safeguarding

As defined in Keeping Children Safe In Education, safeguarding and promoting the the welfare of children means:

  • Providing help and support to meet the needs of children as soon as problems emerge.
  • Protecting children from maltreatment whether that is within or outside the home, including online.
  • Preventing impairment of children's mental and physical health or development.
  • Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care.
  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

The CE Academy aims to ensure that:

  • Appropriate action is taken in a timely manner to safeguard and promote children's welfare.
  • All staff are aware of, and fully understand their statutory responsibilities with respect to safeguarding.
  • Staff are effectively trained in recognising and reporting safeguarding issues.
  • A whole-school approach to safeguarding (ie safeguarding culture) is clear, and that safeguarding underpins all relevant systems and processes with a continuing commitment and ongoing vigilance.
