The CE Academy aims to provide a stable careers programme that is firmly rooted not only in our PACC programme but across all academic and vocational subject areas. Our Careers Programme is directed by our Careers Leader, Paul Kairis (Assistant Headteacher) and supported by our Independent Careers Advice and Guidance provider, Adele Smart. Both are well qualified for their roles with Paul having Level 7 Postgraduate diploma in Careers Leadership, whilst Adele is a member of the CDI and has a Level 4 careers guidance qualification.

We work with numerous external agencies to try and enrich our careers offer. One of these partners is SEMLEP, who have been supportive in our delivery of careers guidance by offering employer engagement opportunities, careers data from the local area and informative resources. If you feel you would be able to help improve the careers offer at the CE Academy, feel free to contact us.

One person who has decided he wants to make a difference is David Gilmour from E-Helix. David is our enterprise advisor who currently and his role as enterprise advisor is to support the CE Academy in creating sustainable links with businesses within the local area.

The CE Academy has been awarded the Gold Careers Mark for the third time. This is achieved through meeting numerous criteria surrounding our careers provision offer. The Careers Mark is also closely linked with the Gatsby Benchmark, which are a list of standards the Department of Education expects all secondary schools and colleges to work towards.

We continue to make improvements to the Careers provision that we provide and one of our most important tasks is ensuring that our pupils have a form of Education, Training or Employment to continue after leaving us at the end of year 11. A large majority of our students will attend a local college, so in order to prepare them for this we allow colleges to access them whilst they are with us in line with the Baker Clause. We will also support them with arranging visits to colleges and their open days. We have pupils situated across the county, so different local colleges will be of interest to them. Please see the links below to our local colleges:

All of our students have access to Kudos, which is an online platform that enables our students to discover more about specific careers. There are quizzes that will highlight specific skills or qualities that students have and what jobs might suit them best. This is then linked to job and apprenticeship searches and college courses in the local area.
